Title:

[Duck Air Services pilot photograph album]

Abstract:

Photograph album compiled by pilot working for Duck Air Services flying school, based at the Oakland Municipal Airport. Snapshots document his fellow pilots, their planes and other aircraft, and aerial views of the San Francisco Bay Area and cloud formations. Various types of aircraft are depicted -- e.g. the flying helium-filled aircraft carrier U.S.S. Akron, Boeing 247, Vultee 1-A Transport, Beechcraft BL 17, Douglass O 35, Curtiss-Diamond 1910, Boeing 95 mail plane. Ground views are taken at various airports in the region, including Oakland Municipal Airport, Mills Field in San Francisco, and an airfield at Sunnyvale. Most pilots are identified only by humorous nicknames (e.g. "Buzz the fan dancer", "Rubinoff the city slicker", "The Dutch ace", "Bogey the goon").
